Each new year brings a slew of new Top 10 lists, from best
songs and worst breakups to the top words and terms in the prior 12
months. So what new or newly popular phrases were on investors' lips in
2016? Finance news and education site Investopedia
released its list of the top 10 financial terms of last year — and
President-elect Donald Trump, unsurprisingly, and tech lingo both had a
big impact.
"Trump's legacy is yet
to be determined, but his impact on investing and economic policy is
unmistakable," said Caleb Silver, editor in chief at Investopedia.
"Throughout 2016, users have flocked to terms related to Donald Trump
and some of his proposed policies.
"This year's list of terms is a window into the topics that will drive investment strategies in 2017."
My mother is paranoid. The idea of using her credit card to shop
online fills her with dread. And she has good reason. A few months ago,
she got a call from her credit card company asking whether she had
recently used her card to purchase two round trips to Miami?!
She had not!
She was a victim of credit card fraud. In fact, 31.8 million
Americans had a similar experience in 2014 – that’s three times the
number in 2013. Very likely, this has already happened to you or someone
you know.

Is it safe to shop online?

First, the bad news. Credit card fraud has become epidemic in the
internet age. But it’s not just about hacking – it’s also about
distribution: trading and selling stolen credit card information has
become easier than ever.
With subtle differences, the procedure outlined in this article is applicable to all other Nigerian online sports prediction companies (bookmarkers) such as NairaBet.com, SureBet247.com, and 1960Bet.com etc
1. Choose a Bookmarker of your Choice and Register with them using the links at the bottom of this page.

2. Register with your Real Details, its just a one page registration: Make sure the details are correct because you can only make payouts into a valid bank account, (Savings or Current).

3. Log in and proceed to FUND your account using your ATM card ONLINE

The Customer ID requested on Qickteller.com is your Account ID with the particular bookmarker. Enter your details correctly and your account will be funded instantly.

OR

(b). Or directly from the website by clicking on the Deposit link (usually at the top of each page either by the right, centralized or left top),

There are lots of equally very easy online funding options from the bookmarkers eg Webpay, In-house payment systems etc. Try as many as possible and select whichever option seems cool for you. Note: You will not be charged unless the transaction is successful.

Reputable platforms handle the process, so don't be scared --the transaction is secure.

My favorite is the use of ATM debit cards (Verve, Visa, Mastercard, GTBcard etc) but you can also do "direct bank deposit", shop agents or visit an ATM machine etc. But using your ATM online gives you much flexibility, just from the corner of your room, at any time of the day even with your phone.

The Minimum Funding amount is usually N500.

4. Then Start Selecting your Games Combinations (Singles or Accumulators) and Play:

Virtual games are played under 3 minutes.

Most Real games are played under 2 hours. If your all your selections "become green" all through, no mincing words, Voila! You've just won yourself raw cash.

5. Cash out your Money to Your Bank Account (Directly Online):

Click on the Payout link then Bank Transfer button

Provide your bank account details and enter an amount (NGN) to withdraw (provided you have exactly that amount or more)

Click NEXT button and your real bank account will be funded. Now you are on top of the world.

The least you can withdraw is usually N1,000 to Maximium of N500,000 or more daily, depending on your bookmarker.

SECRET BEHIND MMM’S 30% REVEALED.... By

Prince Nosa Onaiwu

Original post on Facebook at Secret Behind MMM 30% Revealed.
Martin Luther King Jnr famously said “no lie can live forever”. I
assembled a team of MMM critics and together we spent days researching
the dark secret behind MMM’s unbelievable 30% return on investment
promise. Our recurring question was “how has MMM consistently delivered
30% profit for millions of people”?
We sought to find out first
from participants, majority of whom seem not to have a deep
understanding of how the 30% is being generated. Our questionnaire was
filled with answers like “I don’t know o but it is real. You better join
us”. Other comments include the following; “it is God sent, it is a
miracle in this recession. God sent mmm”, “I think it is a fraud but I
want to make as much as possible before they run away”.
The
feedback from our questionnaire left us with more questions than
answers. A few people tried to explain that MMM operates on banking
principles. This got my team and I more confused. We decided to visit
their website to read what MMM says about itself. To our greatest shock,
MMM doesn’t even pride itself as an investment company or worse, a High
Yield Investment Program (HYIP). They don’t even offer any guarantees
to their participants. They simply claim to be a sort of “donation
exchange reward program”.
As we researched, we tried to embrace
neutrality – strongly resisting the tempting temptation to call MMM a
scam or fraud. We just wanted to understand the MMM 30% secret or
source. We dug through documents, websites, videos, movies and even
music and found the secret that will shock the whole world - The MMM
secret.
MMM does one thing well, the MMM team knows how to work
within laws to ensure everything they do is legal. We discovered there
are mountains of scary disclaimers which can be concluded to mean
“Donations are made at your own risk”. On this foundation, we built our
research.
After reading several documents, we discovered the MMM
narrative; Donate an amount you can lose or can risk to a fellow
participant (not MMM) and you will be rewarded with MAVRO (we will
explain this later)..
MMM is careful about its words, there is no
mention of profit, interest or investment. They use words like reward,
donation and growth of MAVRO.
Literally, we saw a contrast between what blogs and news papers wrote about MMM and what MMM wrote about MMM.
MAVRO named after the very resilient Russian mathematician and
programmer who founded MMM is the source of MMM’s 30% promise (no
scratch the promise, MMM doesn’t promise anything). MAVRO is the secret.
To understand MAVRO, we will use real life names, situations and
assumptions. Akin (lives in Lagos), Emeka (lives in Aba) and Aisha
(lives in Abuja) are all participants of MMM. They registered for free
and pledged the amount they plan to donate. Akin plans to donate
100,000NGN, Emeka plans to donate 130,000NGN and Aisha plans to donate
200,000NGN. If they all donate to other participants (who have
previously donated), they will be rewarded with MAVRO equivalent to the
amount they donate. Simple
The problem is the MAVRO grows at 30%
and it can be converted to cash and withdrawn. That’s the point where it
gets a bit clumsy. As we dug further, we saw MAVRO for what it truly
is. MAVRO is the score or measurement of the growth of the MMM
community. MAVRO in Nigeria currently grows at 30%, it can be increased
or reduced. The number of participants and the financial value of their
overall pledge determine the growth rate of MAVRO.
As long as the
pledges outnumber the withdrawals, the MAVRO will remain at 30% but if
the difference between the MAVRO and withdrawals isn’t much, the MAVRO
may be reduced to say 10%. To ensure the numbers of pledges keep rising,
MMM offers MAVRO to anyone who tells others about MMM. If Emeka tells
Jude about MMM and Jude pledges 150,000NGN, MMM will give Emeka 15,000
MAVRO-NGN. Emeka can withdraw his MAVRO by requesting for help in sum of
15,000 NGN.
Why does MMM reward Emeka? The answer is simple;
people like Emeka keep the system strong by referring new people. This
then leads to the question; does MMM need NEW PEOPLE to SURVIVE?
The answer we got from our research shocked us. MMM does not need new
people to survive but only if MMM members trade within themselves. If
MMM participants trade within themselves, there will be no leakages of
the MMM funds and money will remain among MMM members.
To
understand this, let us take a look at banking. Let’s assume a bank
called Wazobia Bank has 1million customers. They have deposits of
1billion Naira. CBN allows the bank to loan out about 60% of their
deposit. This creates 1.6billion Naira (1billion real money and
600million idea of money). Two main factors ensure for the success of
this; collateral backed loans and few leakages. If the loans are not
repaid, the collateral will be sold and people from the bank’s customers
will buy and the 600million will be generated. We will now be back to
1billion naira. The 600million idea of money has vanished. Nobody loses
any money. The debtors simply lost their asset.
Massive leakages
rarely happen in banking because the urban dwellers are active users of
bank accounts. About 70% of the money stays in developed states which
means over 60% of the overall money stays in banks. Even when people
spend money in local areas, it finds its way back to the banking system
because the locals need urban tools to build, eat and survive. In urban
areas, fellow bank customers trade with each other.
For MMM, as
their participants continue to increase, they will unconsciously begin
to trade with each other. A university student told me of her
experience, she went to make photocopy of her school work and discovered
the woman in charge was all smiles. She wondered if her 30NGN was
responsible for the woman’s smile. A few minutes later, she overheard
the woman telling her sales boy to quickly run to the bank to make
payments for her before MMM blocks her (MMM gives participants 48hours
to fulfill their pledge to other participants once it is requested).
After further enquiry, she discovered the woman has made 360,000NGN
from MMM. They became friends because the student herself sponsors her
education from donations she receives from MMM. It became a thing of joy
for her to continue to patronize her co participants knowing that every
penny she spends will somehow return to the system as a donation to
someone who needs it.
As MMM participants make money, there will
be a desire to spend. They will be stronger if they patronize themselves
to keep the system strong. This way they won’t need new members to
remain strong. It is the new members who will need them to escape the
hardship that life in Nigeria has to offer.
The news goes thus:

It has already been one year since the MMM Community brought
Nigerians together to help each other and change their lives for the
better. To celebrate this first anniversary, MMM Nigeria announces a
new promo. Every person who will register in MMM in the period
from November 24 up to November 30 will be awarded 1000 Mavro-Naira as a
gift. No need even to provide help to receive this gift: a
person just needs to sign up in the Community during this period and add
his/her bank account details in the Personal Office. After a while the
amount of 1000 Mavro-NGN will be automatically awarded to his/her PO
account.

The purpose of the offer is to give each registered person an
opportunity to get help from another MMM member instantly after
registration, and make sure that MMM works and people really help each

Community!

richer quickly. MMM creates a platform through which people help each

segregation: where all people will have equal opportunities, regardless
of where they live, what their status is, and who their relatives or

Being smart with your finances also means being stealthy about who you transact with online. The internet or mobile or social networks can be faceless. While there are lots of very honourable and honest internet users, some fraudsters also thrive under the covert and relative facelessness of the internet to hone their dishonest schemes, even to a ridiculous degree. Some engage in direct manipulation of individuals (social engineering) to extort. Many of these fraudsters even craft out
legit looking banners and flyers to distribute on various social networks to unsuspecting users and lure them into their shady dealings to dupe.

It will be very irresponsible of me if I do not report a case in order to prevent others from falling victim. A simple search lead me to a page on Nairaland [http://www.nairaland.com/3102205/nairalanders-pls-beware-scammer] where the same scammer has being perpetuating his acts. The rundown of everything I will pour out in this article.

I do buy cheaper data bundles from data re-sellers on expensive networks such as MTN before since I am a broke ass and a heavy internet user, but on recommendation from people. I've never met my usual merchant in person before, the confidence and trust is in place. The idea of trying this new guy out was plain straightforward and natural, I expected honesty from an average individual, especially ones doing business. Was I so naive? I didn't suspect any foul play until immediately after I made the payment.

Lessons To Be Learnt

Never trust any internet user you do not know through and through.

Make sure you have positive reviews on the person if the platform has a rating system.

Get proper introduction and recommendation from reliable sources, preferably your friends or relatives.

I saw his advert on Nairaland forum sometimes ago, being a banner image, I kept it for later reference. That reference matured today 24 November, 2016.

I called him around 9.00am in the morning and he didn't pick the call.

He called back exactly10:14am to see who it was. I asked about his banner ad and he assured he had all the plans available. To test the water I opt for the least price one thousand, five hundered naira (N1500.00) with the hope that if everything works fine I might come for the bigger offers in the future, that future will not come. I don't want you my reader to be part of his future, he might spend it in jail.

What makes me and (I guess others) fall for his antics was the claim of "payment after delivery", that works the magic at first sight.

I didn't bother for him to send anything before I transferred the N1500 using Quickteller payment system. 5 minutes after our call 10:23am he got the alert.

I called him for acknowledgement of the money, he was not even expecting such swiftness but I saw his message right after dropping the call, reads thus:

Number: Dataservice
Content: Dear customer, you have received 5028.0MB in your SME shared bundle balance.

Time: 11/24/2016 10:22:20 AM

I was like "Activate to browse?" How? At this instant I realized immediately what has just happened and I sent this text right away...

"Oga, I realized what just happened& I'm very sorry. Myt not be your fault.
Just like U I am an hustler too, pls find a place in ur gracious heart to send N700 mtn airtime 2 ds line (It's still to buy real data).
Pls try &understand that really was my last from my account. " And in truth it was.

I managed to place a call across to ask him about the activation part. He picked and this was our discussion when I didnt see any response: Discussion With A Scammer!

He claimed he didn't get my SMS and still asked me to send another N500 card to him, an heartless criminal.

Bitcoin - Everything You Need to Know

We are not delving into the technicalities of Bitcoin on this forum, that can be sourced for elsewhere on the internet. The aim here is to introduce you to the basic information you need and its application to every day life.

Bitcoin is a form of digital currency, created and held
electronically. No one controls it. Bitcoins aren’t printed, like
dollars or euros – they’re produced by people, and
increasingly
businesses, running computers all around the world, using software that
solves mathematical problems.
It’s the first example of a growing category of money known as cryptocurrency. Coindesk

What makes it different from normal currencies?

Bitcoin can be used to buy things electronically. In that sense, it’s like conventional dollars, euros, or yen, which are also traded digitally.
However, bitcoin’s most important characteristic, and the thing that makes it different to conventional money, is that it is decentralized. No single institution controls the bitcoin network. This puts some people at ease, because it means that a large bank can’t control their money.

To start using Bitcoin you need these things:

A bitcoin wallet and wallet address and

Your normal currency to trade and convert to bitcoin or vice versa

An exchanger locatbitcoins.com has local presence in almost every country.

A wallet address (is like your bank account number) where bitcoins (money) get sent to directly.
While Wallet is like a purse where you keep your bitcoins (money). This wallet can be on a web or on a mobile app or on a desktop pc. All the features come with adequate security but your actions and in-actions can get you exposed to hacking attempts, so follow guidelines and provided instructions, enable high level of security and also 2-steps authentication is always good.
You may acquire bitcoin in any way and yet convert it through bitcoin exchangers to your normal currency. However, you can use your bitcoin on merchant site accepts it, bitcoin is a currency of the internet and is gaining immense popularity by the minutes.

Where to get a Bitcoin Wallet Address and Buy/Sell Bitcoins?

Here is a list of bitcoin exchanger and/or wallet repositories. Some function as exchangers only while some provide wallet and exchanger services and others wallet only. This is subjective but blockchain.info seems to have the best and most intuitive security features in place.

What are its characteristics?

Bitcoin has several important features that set it apart from government-backed currencies.

It's decentralized:
The bitcoin network isn’t controlled by one central authority. Every
machine that mines bitcoin and processes transactions makes up a part of
the network, and the machines work together.

It's easy to set up: unlike conventional banks, you can set up a bitcoin address in seconds, no questions asked, and with no fees payable.

Can be anonymous:
Users can hold multiple bitcoin addresses, and they aren’t linked to
names, addresses, or other personally identifying information. If you
have a publicly used bitcoin address, anyone can tell how
many bitcoins are stored at that address.

Transaction fees are relatively cheaper: Your bank may impose a high fee as charge for international transfers. Bitcoin doesn’t.

It’s fast: You can send money anywhere and it will arrive minutes later, as soon as the bitcoin network processes the payment.

It’s non-repudiable: When your bitcoins are sent, there’s no getting them back, unless the recipient returns them to you. They’re gone forever.

Check the internet for more breakdown of bitcoin.

Now this is enough to get you up and running. Good luck in your bitcoin use.

A lot of families are finding it really hard to send funds to their relatives and business partners abroad. No thanks to the economic recession that Nigeria as a country is passing through. Government policy through CBN directives is ensuring that hard currency is not enjoying exuberant ovation in the nation's financial system.
In this article, I will give the 3-steps guideline on how to go about sending your fund within few hours (all the processes and funds transfer), you can always use the process afterwards.

- You transfer your money from Naira to any currency of your choice

- You send money to any currency in any part of the world.

- You transfer funds to your domiciliary account with ease.

- You don't need a BDC

- You don't need a Dollar/Euro/Yen or whatever currency

- You don't need a bank

- You don't have to leave your house or wherever you are right now

- You don't really need anybody else because everything is online and you do it all by yourself

- I am only giving you the tips on how to go about it

- Now you can be at peace with reaching out to your children/siblings/friends abroad.

Let's get down to business

You should be getting familiar with online and electronic currencies now if you are not already. Everything you can think of is getting taken over or having a technological equivalent, even getting the job done better. In the word of online transactions, electronic currencies such as Bitcoin, Payeer, Skrill and a host of others are widely accepted legal tenders. Of the myriads of e-currencies available, bitcoin is the most popular and has gained mainstream acceptance as a currency and is used in payment system in select countries and many major companies PayPal, Microsoft, Dell, Neweg.

Contributing more to the popularity of these currencies is the fact that they can be flexibly converted from one currency to the other, by online payment pre-processors. Also, making fees paid during transactions with them are relatively cheaper.

This is how it goes in three steps:
1. Register at localbitcoins for a bitcoin wallet and address. then buy the equivalent of the amount of money you want to send in Bitcoin from the sellers (could be on the site or elsewhere).

2. Register and validate your account on Payza. Transfer the money from your bitcoin wallet to your Payza account.

3. From Payza account you can transfer to any bank account in any currency of your choice in any country in the world. You may have to pay a minor processing fee during transactions.

Yes, it is as simple as this.

The topic of the 2016 Financial Planning Association’s Annual Conference was financial technology.

Global financial planners discussed the future direction of the industry and how that would transform our daily life. One of the most interesting topic was whether artificial intelligence (AI) would eventually replace human beings in the financial services industry.

If so, which sub-sectors are more vulnerable?

We all know that computers can process a huge database and has advanced calculation capabilities. And robots are free from the influence of emotion and character. Quantitative trading that requires a lot of number crunching and discipline is exactly where computers excel, which is why fund managers in this arena are most vulnerable to the rise of machines.

By contrast, the value investment approach adopted by investors like Warren Buffett should be more immune to such technological change as it relies more on fundamental analysis and input from interactions with company management.

How about the impact for the financial planning sector?

Obviously, some financial planners will eventually be replaced by automated investment service. But those who handle high-end investors, which typically require a high degree of human touch, would be relatively safe ...

Banking today is becoming less and less a place you go, and more something that is hidden from view behind digital banking and commerce apps. Once an account is opened at a bank or credit union, there is less need to stop into a branch, since functions like deposits, borrowing, payments and transfers can be done without personal interaction through online and mobile devices.

According to a new report published by KPMG, “Meet Eva – Your Enlightened Virtual Assistant and the Future Face of the Invisible Bank”, technologies like Apple’s Siri, Amazon’s Alexa or Samsung’s Viv will enable an even greater shift in banks and banking by 2030. Instead of being hidden within apps, banking will become completely invisible to consumers.
Fueled by improvements in advanced data analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), voice-controlled devices, application programming interface (API) and cloud technology, the Invisible Bank will be able to be integrated seamlessly within a consumer’s everyday life. Ultimately being available ‘beyond the device,’ these technologies will allow banking, commerce, daily intelligence and decision making to be available to consumers 24/7/365 as a virtual, e-personal digital concierge.

Continue on... The Financial Brand

The agreement, signed in Hong Kong during a board meeting of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), establishes a framework for both parties that allows the sharing of information on their respective markets such as emerging trends as well as regulatory issues.

According to both parties, the partnership has been established as a result of the growing need to compare regulatory road blocks with other regions, with ASIC noting that innovation in the fintech space is not confined by national borders.

If you are one of the chronic doubter of the platform just like myself before, this piece shows you what you can do to test the water, raise your confidence and make money from it safely
within 3 weeks. Even though it is not as bad as people have being painting it in the news. Believe me, people are making more and more money from it daily, weekly and monthly. I made some last week and another one is on the way this very week.

This is my opinion of the scheme before now and it has not changed, the scheme might not be sustainable over time but they have being in existence since January 2016 in Nigeria. Life is all about risk, this case is a calculated risk which in my opinion will be worth it. Just don't get too greedy. Having said that, their mode of operation is "transparent" and "maybe" relatively safe (even more for the non-greedy), especially for people like us who are quite skeptical of it.

If you are going to join make sure you use your spare money, really no one knows if the predicted crash is coming anytime soon or not, but the system is just fine at the moment. Helpers and the helped are not feeling any friction.

You can make N10,000 - 12,000 with your money spending just 2-3 days in the system not 30 days.

NGN = Nigerian Naira.

If you register today and offered to "provide help" (PH) of Twenty thousand naira,(N20,000.00), minimum amount that triggers $20 bonus for new members. N5000 is the minimum but interest will be N1500 after 30 days.

Interest is 1% daily, not just 30% like that. So if you wish to withdraw your money after 20 days then you will have 20% (provided your account has been updated, usually by 12:00am on Tuesdays and Thursdays).

You do not put your money in for 30 days, No!

Mind you, your account will be frozen (in red but will be increasing) until you PH.

You only put money in on the day you are matched with a member to PH to (i.e a member to send money to), assuming 25th day. This means for the 25 days your account would have yielded 25% interest even without having your money in yet.

However, the day someone gets matched with you to PH to, you must deposit into the member's account within 48 hours otherwise your account gets cancelled (for life).

When the member you deposited into his/her account confirms it (usually same day) your own account becomes unfrozen (green, will still be increasing) and you can opt to withdraw the same day your deposit gets confirmed.

You can request for help immediately (if you don't trust the system yet) or wait for the account to reach full potential (30 days) or get updated by 12:00am the next Tuesday/Thursday and proceed to withdraw.

Within 48 hours your money is back with you together with the interest.

You are forced to withdraw all of your money in not more than 35 days of the whole process.

The whole saga means your actual money will not spend up to 1 week in the system or just 3 days or less if you wish so and wanted to be really Smart about it.

You can call on me to help you set it up, for free.

This actually is for fun but you will see your account grow until you are required to PH (probably 2-3 weeks from now), by then you can decide to decline but your account will be deleted. If you want to try it, just have your money available.

If you decide to stay and PH, your account is unfrozen in few hours and you can demand your own PH immediately.

In less than 48 hours, another member will deposit the amount in your bank account directly.

They are not the same thing but many financial institutions name their apps randomly making each platform appear sometimes confusing. The names however have a ring to them that speaks volume of the concept of being "mobile", on the go. That exactly is what they all have to offer, automating banking and financial transactions on mobile devices. This give users more mobility and flexibility of doing business transactions and other activities at any time and anywhere. Financial activities have grown beyond the traditional banking sector.

On many occasions have mobile money apps being denoted as mobile wallets. The understanding of these different fintech platforms seems to elude people and organizations who have found it hard to give any clear definition to their apps. The
submission here is my explanation (with examples) after sampling, researching and making meaning of the available platforms that offer (or claims to) the different services. There is a clear and sometimes loose distinctions about their modus operandi.

Mobile Banking:
As the name suggests, this is banking activities done with a mobile device. With mobile banking you are able to use your mobile phone to connect with your bank accounts and manage financial transactions using those accounts. What do you do at a bank? Probably ...

Register for a new bank account; Request for your account balance; Make withdrawals over the counter; Make deposits over the counterRequest for your account history and lots more.

The service would vary depending on what kind of account you have - savings, current, loan, credit etc. These are activities that mobile banking apps render to people out-of-the-box. No need to get into a bank to do all that anymore. Do-It-Yourself (DIY) wherever you are is the trend, yeah, the new cool!
Banking apps require internet-enabled phones in order to access the goodies. However, USSD banking is a fabulous alternative to just that, no be everyone dey use smart phone in fact my own phone no smart. For wholesome financial inclusion, USSD is available anywhere, anytime so far there is mobile network coverage on your basic phone.

Aim of mobile banking is to decongest the banking halls by reducing frequency of customers since they can handle many of their banking activities by self.

Ex mBanking Platforms/Apps: most Bank apps.

Mobile Money:

This is your virtual money using a mobile device, it converts cash directly into digital money. On the contrary, you can own a mobile money account without a bank account. For example, opening a mobile money account with MTN or eTranzact's PocketMoni is with a mobile money enabled SIM or your phone number respectively.

Mobile Money is typically used for mobile based accounts offered primarily to the underbanked and unbanked. It draws basically from deployments where mobile network operators have offered accounts to their subscribers.

You may need to walk into a bank to fund your mobile money account but it is never necessary as different means of depositing abound. The fund in your mobile money account can be used to shop anywhere your platform is recognized and accepted.

Aim is to reduce the level of cash handling, this leads to relative security in finance and at the same time improves flexibilty and options available for the modern-era business transactions. more importantly, the unbanked populace.
You can as well infer what this platform stands for from the name "Wallet". What do you do with your physical wallet? Probably you use it to hold some flat and presumably light materials such as a wad of cash, complimentary cards and of course Credit/Debit cards etc. Mobile wallet is an electronic wallet (a mobile app) designed for use on mobile phones.

Firstly, this term is used in some instances where financial companies, banks and others give customers platform to have a mobile money account. Since money is kept in this account just like a physical wallet, they are thus referred to an mobile wallet as well. In this situation not a holding different cards but fund, remember your physical wallet can still hold wad of cash.

Another explanation for mobile wallet is given in this scenario, using myself as an example. Within my leather wallet resides Debit/ATM cards and I carry the wallet along with me all the time. I may decide to use GTBank card for this transaction or First bank card for the other. With the disruption ongoing in the financial sector, I do not have to carry cards about, Meaning? All my card details can be stored electronically in an e-wallet since I also go along with the phone with me everywhere. This allows my physical card to at least rest, abi? and free up space for other what-nots in my physical wallet. The most interesting part is I can decide to use whichever one suites my purpose from the mobile wallet directly by a mere click to pay for any service on the spot.

Generally, mobile wallets can be used on a website, with NFC (Near Field Communications) payment techs or depending on the architecture at bookstores, malls, cinemas, etc without fumbling to remember as many PINs as possible. You may use a general and well secured PIN to access you cards from your e-wallet, this time it is no more your posh leather wallet. It makes you work, walk and transact smartly and confidently like the cool person that you are.

Examples are: Google Wallet app, eTranzact WebAccess, PocketMoni, InterSwitch Connect.

How they are Inter-related

A mobile bank and mobile money user can still use a mobile wallet ( and if issued a card).

A mobile wallet user must have at least either of a bank account or a mobile money account.

A mobile money user doesn't need a bank account before saving money with the operators.

A mobile money user can fund his/her account using a mobile banking platform and vice versa.

Mobile banking is banking activities-centric while Mobile Money is payment-centric.

Mobile Money is typically used for mobile based accounts offered primarily to the underbanked and unbanked.

Mobile Wallet could be an electronic wallet where you:

Keep your money for further transactions, or

Store your different credit or debit card details for easy retrieval during transactions

Mobile banking is primarily aimed at creating a D-I-Y service to customers which in turn automate jobs and reduce work off banking officials.

Financial activities are beyond the traditional banking sector in this century, even now that more competitive and better financial technological solutions are flooding the market. Banks are not getting left behind so the need for adaptation, adoption and aggressive creation of fintech services such as online loans, banking apps, USSD Banking etc.

Graciously, the merchant agreed to sell. Tunde was very happy. Unfortunately,
enough cash to get this special specie was beyond reach at that moment. He cannot
accept to leave the vicinity without any of his selections, none would be
left behind. Problem is not about the price but the cash.
The two drivers, Bayo,
Uche and two other hands from the ranch have started packing and tying the ones
already paid for into the lorry. The groom is down with the merchant brainstorming
how best to get cash across, then something clicked.

He asked the man, “Aboki,
you no dey carry phone?”

The merchant answered “I get phone now”.

“Bank nko?”

“Oh, very good, I go
sama your phone with bank alert now now. Abi you know trust me to pay into your
bank account directly.”

The merchant is a smart one, he knows much about many
cashless transactions and he answered

“Customers dey pay me
with their phone well well, e dey work like airtime transfer. If you get money on top, I go accept.”

Tunde was amazed. He thought these guys knew nothing about
technology. Unknown to him, there was one man named Ope, who has being
educating all business owners around the vicinity about the magic of mobile banking and other fintech platforms. The guy called himself MobileBanking and FinTech Evangelist. He gave them his line for consultation
whenever issues pertaining to their finances, easy loan lending, payment and other transactions
arise. Not only that but also promised enlightened them that business transactions can be done even in places with
no ATM, bank or internet services like his remote village. He assured them of the believe that businesses must always grow and run hitch-free, anywhere and anytime.

Within minutes, the final transaction was concluded and the entourage were on their way back. Settling back into his car, “One bull and the rest”,
Tunde prided himself about the catch. His driver looked back at him from the driver's seat and commended "good business, oga" before starting the car and
concluded “Madam will like that last one
o, chai!” Tunde brimming with contentment patted the driver across the
shoulder and replied “Thank you, Nafir.” The driver
nodded.

It was worth it.

Tunde completed the transfer using eTranzact PocketMoni
payment platform into the Merchant’s First Bank account. Both parties got the

Guess what? The requirement could be basically your BVN, and/or social media accounts only (like Facebook or Twitter account). Other simple things could be required. In totality little or no paperwork nor collateral is usually required. Your profile will be ran through an algorithm that decides if you match and can be trusted, abegi na their money, they've got to make precautions.

Some people do cringe at the request for the BVNs by financial operators. It is a standard authentication requirement, sanctioned by Central bank of Nigeria (CBN) for any financial activities in Nigeria, loan application inclusive. BVN is nothing but a means identifying you at the central database, maintained by the CBN. While these service providers can not compromise your data, having your BVN gives them a sense of security that you own the account and is not an unscrupulous human being (even if you are, looks can deceive but your credit history/record can tell them a little about you). Is this not a good thing?

Nairaland (NL) forum website and Linda Ikeji's Blog (LIB) are known to be the online traffic cabals in Africa.

Seun Osewa is a magnanimous human being, I believe he's trying his best everyday to tame his tumultuous and rebellious online machine. Not his fault, how well can you, Yes You! out there manage a group of civilized human beings albeit packs of energetic e-warriors and unrestrained political fanatics? This man is trying his best. Leave ethnic chauvinism and political jingoism (the two sections filled
with flame wars on daily bases) out of NL you will see its total glory. Smaller websites, bloggers and advertisers can better attest to its traffic diversion in tributaries to them. Conversion rate? That I do can't tell but advertisers would do better.

Let's get down to the business of the day. Lacing your link with well-scripted and creative signature on NL is one sure way to get users to notice your affiliate link. It is a bait that attracts users who your link follow up to the appropriate page. NL's effectiveness in this sense depends on your level of activeness on the site. The more comment and post you make the more the trails you leave behind. You can get good traffic from NL, it is more of a breadcrumb.

The trick is, be your self, comment sensibly or rather make your signature or comments weird you'll still get noticed but being sensible gives better sense of conviction to your would-be followers. I call this 'follower' because they will trail your link to the merchant page/product that you are promoting.

There is a signature that accompanies all your comments and contributions on the site, character limit of the signature is short but powerful if you can communicate your message well.

Besides commenting, you can create your own original post. Chances of it reaching the most coveted front page is slim (unless you opted to sponsor it or your topic is about SNAKE!). You can still direct people to it through hyperlink in your comments.

Another bonus is, you can style the font to make it catchy, irritatingly big and colorful. But beware of NL's anti-spam bot, it is potent.

See the introduction to Affiliate Marketing

LIB is another good source "diversion". The same rule applies just like above NL above (but neither is LIB flexible for styling nor have signature). You need to keep up with every post to make impressive or catchy comments, I'll suggest not rogue comments like "~~Linda take note" or "~~Watch video of a teacher screwing student in the toilet" sort of things. You leverage on their traffic to your own advantage. Many other very good sources of traffic abound in Nigeria such as #hash-tagging on Twitter or Facebook pages. Other means could be the use of ad-click services, e-mail lists, sending links directly to friends etc.
You only have to go on the adventure, a treasure hunt to see what works for you. Spread your links across as many pages as possible for better reach and higher cumulative revenue.

All these things are not as easy as they seem anyway. Don't just think you can wake up one day and start making money from blogging or affiliate marketing, or the internet right away. Everything takes time, energy and lots of patience and effort. Living in areas where electricity is relatively worse will surely frustrate your life. As a starter or student you might not be able to afford solar power generator. Solution is, you will have to get this notorious and lousy alternative, mechanical electricity generator -pardon my grammar, lol. Don't forget about data -internet subscription, that stuff ain't cheap at all.

You do not have to own a website or blog to make money from affiliate marketing. Yes, you read that correctly. Online social or forum account is good for a start, I am a witness.

Affiliate marketing is the process of earning a commission by promoting other people's (or company's) products. You find a product you like, promote it to others, and earn a piece of the profit for each sale that you make. Smart Passive Income

Here is a good one from Konga.com reinforcing my earlier claim by a respected Nigerian e-commerce and affiliate program powerhouse:

You don't even need a website (although having your own website helps). You can promote Konga product via search engines, and social media networks, postings in forums, or simply email to all your friends and people you know with your affiliate link attached to our product. If you have your own website, simply talk to your visitors in real time using live chat software on your website and send them your affiliate links through chat. All you need to do is to send a visitor to Konga.com via a special link called affiliate link, and if he or she buys anything from us, you will get commission. Source

<span style="background-color: white; color: #848484; font-family: "arial" , "verdana" , "helvetica" , "geneva" , sans-serif; font-size: 12px;">

What makes an affiliate link special is because each link is unique to only one participating marketer. With the code in the link, all sales, referrals and activities tied to such account will be tracked and maintained in his/her record with the affiliate company, using same.
I wrote a post on this blog on how I earned my first money from affiliate marketing. You can research into companies that offer this platform, especially those that give naked affiliate links out e.g sports betting companies such as MerryBet, 1960bet give out affiliate link. Also Jumia and Konga supply naked affiliate links to marketers if that is your preference. Earning from such is easier since you have no where to place ad banners.

For busy people who do not have time to write blogs or do serious editing, you can still make do by pasting your affiliate link across social networks or forum sites in a non-intruding manner.

However, a webpage is more treasured, use of ad banners is better because of it conspicuousness which can lead to higher Click-through-Rate.

How Affiliate Marketing Works

First off, you must read the terms and conditions carefully and agree to it before enlisting.

Register at your preferred Affiliate Platform Company.

After confirmation, you will have a dashboard in your account from where you can see oyur affiliate link, make choices e.g ad format type (link or banner) or banner ad format type.

Choice whatever suites you and keep promoting in your niche.

Your activities eg referred buyers, new users sales etc will be recorded, you revenue progress will be available for you to track as well.

Revenue is based on whatever rate/percentage the company set of the product/service you are promoting.

Payment is made on whatever mechanism the company laid down eg EFT.

Payment may be made at designated time in a month or whenever your revenue reaches a particular threshold.

I will accompany this post with how to leverage on Nairaland and LIB's online traffic for upping your affiliate marketing game.
Then further with breakdown on some good affiliate programs in Nigeria.
